The Ultimate Fighting Championship® is coming to Concord on Saturday with some interactive exercises and a couple of tough guys signing autographs.
Bay Area UFC fighters Mike Swick and Gilbert Melendez will be at the UFC’s Octagon National Tour signing autographs from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the UFC Gym, 1975 Diamond Blvd. in Concord.
Swick, who fights out of San Jose, is expected to face promotional newcomer Erick Silva on Aug. 27 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Melendez fights out of San Francisco and is ranked as the top lightweight fighter in the world by MMAWeekly.com, according to a UFC news release.
The Octagon National Tour is scheduled for Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. at the Concord gym, and will include physical fitness tests, a memorabilia exhibition and a chance for fans to preview the Xbox Kinect UFT Trainer experience.
On Saturday August 14, XCW (Xtreme Cage Wars) presents "Unstoppable". XCW 35 will return to the Moosomin Communiplex in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. Fans in attendance will also be greeted by UFC Middleweight superstar Mike "Quick' Swick. XCW is known for bringing special guests to Canada, and is making a huge mark in Canadian MMA.
