Aljamain Sterling gets a fight at UFC on FOX 24 in Kansas City

Sterling is added to an already exciting fight card.

The UFC on FOX 24 card, just got a little bit more fun.  Aljamain Sterling (12-2) will face off against Augsto Mendes (6-1).  The Bantamweight fight was added to the card by the UFC, which should round out the event with 13 fights.

Aljamain will be looking to rebound, after losing two consecutive fights in the Octagon.  He was defeated by Rafael Assunscao and Bryan Caraway in back to back decision losses.  Before those two losses, he was 12 and 0 and had won the first four fights of his UFC career.

Augusto Mendes is 1-1 in the UFC having defeated Frankie Saenz and losing to current Bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt. This is an important fight in his career and a victory will send him to bigger fights and paydays, while a loss could find him vitually starting his career over.

UFC on FOX 24 takes place April 15th in Kansas City, MO and is headlined by the Flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and Wilson Reis.  Rose Namajunas will also take on Michelle Waterson in the highly anticipated co-main event.
