Amanda Nunes gunning for 145lbs title?

The UFC women’s bantamweight division is an interesting one in 2017. Amanda Nunes sits comfortably atop the division as the champion after handing Ronda Rousey her 2nd defeat and leaving her future up in the air. The upcoming Julianna Pena vs. Valentina Shevchenko bout is a no doubt #1 contender fight. But outside of that, Nunes might not really see any challenges in front of her.

Not too worry she says. That’s because the newly created women’s featherweight division is something she’s loosely thinking about during her time off. With Holly Holm and Germaine de Radamie set to fight at UFC 208 for the women’s featherweight title, Nunes told TMZ Sports that she might look to try and become the first woman two-weight world champion in the UFC.

Should Holm win, a Nunes vs. Holm fight pitting the only two women to defeat Ronda Rousey against one another could do considerable business. Given that Amanda cuts to make 135lbs I think it’s a safe bet to assume that she would feel pretty comfortable fighting at 145lbs.

Check out Amanda in her own words on that topic and a few other tidbits in the video below:
