Amir Aliakbari in the co-main event of RIZIN Fighting this weekend

The AKA Thailand prospect will be looking to run his record to 7-1 at RIZIN.

Amir Aliakbari is a very talented heavyweight fighter. He’s been training with Mike Swick and company at AKA Thailand and his growth has been very noticeable from fight to fight. He’s competed in five Rizin fights, having suffered only one defeat. He was bested by Mirko Cro Cop at RIZIN World Grand Prix 2016 final. In his last fight, he defeated Gerônimo Dos Santos via TKO in the first round.

Amir (6-1) is a former highly decorated wrestler from Iran. He made his transition to MMA in 2015, and debuted against Hyung Chui Lee, defeating him in 14 seconds by knockout. It was clear from that point he had plenty of power to go along with his pedigree in wrestling. His development in stand up continues at AKA Thailand, and he’s becoming a complete martial artist, and could very well be one of the best in the years to come. He has size, strength, a background in wrestling and elite MMA training.  The sky is the limit.

Tyler King (12-5) has the difficult task of facing Amir this weekend at RIZIN.  King is a talented fighter who has competed in Bellator, CES, WSOF and was on The Ultimate Fighter season 19. Well, he tried to be, but he lost in his fight to get into the house. He was defeated in just 12 seconds by Dan Spohn and failed to make it into the house. In his last fight, he was again stopped, 1:38 into his fight with Keith Bell.
