Amir Aliakbari went 5-1 with Rizin before signing a deal with ACB.
Heavyweight fighter and AKA Thailand team member Amir Aliakbari is a serious threat to heavyweights. He’s 7-1 as a professional and his wrestling pedigree is elite. He also gets the best standup training in the world at AKA Thailand. It’s made him a very dangerous, well-rounded competitor. He’s stopped his last two opponents via TKO, both in the first round.
Absolute Championship Berkut is a Russian MMA promotion that has been doing a good job of signing some top talent from around the world. Former UFC fighter Nah-Shon Burrell fights Saturday night for them.
He defeated Tyler King in a fight in July after the two had a bit of a scrap during the weigh-ins. Amir carried that into the ring and destroyed King, knocking him senseless in just over a minute. It was a good fight for him to transition into ACB with. They are getting an exciting heavyweight with a tremendous upside. Here’s the tweet where Amir announced he’d signed a deal with the Russian promotion.
