We reported recently that Roy Jones Jr. is angling for a boxing match with former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Adding to his comments to FightHype, Jones took to twitter to push the issue further:
Roy Jones vs Anderson Silva and Mayweather vs McGregor double headline card UFC invasion. Would be biggest event of all time period

Being on the undercard of the potential McGregor-Mayweather bout could actually make sense. Add in the fact that Nick Diaz is also getting a boxing license in Nevada and you could very well be looking at an event that sees 3 boxers taking on 3 MMA fighters. Quite a spectacle.
Early this morning, The Spider (who has 2 professional boxing matches under his belt) jumped on twitter to answer Roy:
All a dream needs to be accomplished is someone who believes that it can be done. #JonesJrVSSilva #SilvaVSJonesJr @RealRoyJonesJr
— Anderson Silva (@SpiderAnderson) February 23, 2017
With 119 professional fights between them, 45 for Silva(34-8, 1NC in MMA, 1-1 in boxing) and 74 for Jones (65-9 in boxing), there would be some serious fight history on display.
Both fighters are currently coming off of victories in their respective rings. Silva won via unanimous decision over Derek Brunson at UFC 208, and Jones defeated Bobby Gunn after the ringside doctor called a stop to the fight following the 7th round on February 17th.
Neither fighter has anything in the works at the moment in terms of another fight. So it’s possible both will take the time to see if a bout with each other could potentially materialize.
