Few fighters make use of their social media accounts to the extent that Invicta FC strawweight champion Angela Hill does. Anytime there is a fight card she’s not on you can bet she’s live-tweeting her commentary to the masses.
She is very open and honest with her thoughts, even if it means being very critical of other fighters. Twitter has quickly become a sounding board for fighters calling out other fights.
When a twitter follower threw out the idea of Hill taking on Joanne Calderwood in her next fight, she was quick to jump at the idea:
Jojo begging for a fight? The only jab she can block from me is on twitter. Someone tell her I'm down. @seanshelby @ufc @danawhite https://t.co/iWw0hw3q4f

With both fighters suffering a loss to Jessica Andrade in their last fight it almost seems like a perfect matchup. Calderwood wasn’t biting though:
I think I got a midgey bite yesterday…oh well we all know how annoying they are and how long they live for đđ #worstcalloutever

Hill seems unphased by Calderwood’s lack of interest, however:
JoJo: 'Im broke & want a fight'
Me: 'Let's fight'
JoJo: 'That was a terrible callout'
Me: *shrugs and sits pretty with my 50 grand bonus*

Calderwood hasn’t fought since September 2016 so she’s definitely itching to fight. Hill went the distance with Andrade in their February 4th bout so we’re not sure how soon she would be ready to go again. But a spot on the UFC Fight Night Kansas City prelims, on a card headlined by strawweights Michelle Waterson and Rose Namajunas, would seem to make good business sense.
Hill’s medical suspension from UFC Fight Night 104 ends on March 7th, so the April 15th Kansas City date isn’t necessarily out of the question. We will keep you posted in the event anything between these two progresses. For now, though, twitter will be fun to watch at least.
