You’d never know it, but Johny Hendricks has Native American blood in him. Hendricks is part of the Otoe Tribe and his great great grandfather was an Otoe Missouri Tribal chief. Because of his UFC accomplishments, Hendricks has had a real impact on the Otoe.
Hendricks seems to have embraced his role as an ambassador of the tribe. It appears that he’s especially proud of teaching the Otoe youth and showing himself to be a positive role model for the kids.
The video that the UFC has recently posted about Johny’s place in the tribe reveals how much the members gravitate to him. They look at Hendricks as a superstar and are proud of his Octagon accomplishments.
The prerequisites for tribal membership are taken very seriously. The Otoe look to be more than content with Johny and the good he is doing in their name.
