Gegard Mousasi will debut at Bellator 185 on October 20th
Bellator announced two fights for their October 20th card, including Mousasi’s debut.
Last night during Bellator 181, they made a couple of fight announcements for their October 20th Bellator 185. The event will take place at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT. The main event will feature newly signed Gegard Mousasi taking on former Bellator Middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko. Also on the card will be King Mo Lawal facing Liam McGeary.
Gegard Mousasi (42-6) won his last five fights in a row for the UFC but was unable to reach a new deal with them when his contract expired. He signed with Bellator, and you have to think with a victory in his debut, he’ll be in line for a title shot, currently held by Rafael Carvalho. Mousasi has a complete MMA game and is one of the top three middleweights in the world.
Alexander Shlemenko (56-9) has tasted plenty of success in the Bellator cage. A former Middleweight champion, Alexander has won five consecutive fights. His last loss came to Tito Ortiz and Light Heavyweight. The last time Shlemenko lost at Middleweight was three years ago to Brandon Halsey.
King Mo facing Liam McGeary is the only other fight announced for the card at this time.
