David Branch was a two division champion in WSOF
It’s never a good day when a promotion loses their champion to another promotion. When that fighter is a two division champion, the pain has to be considerable. Former WSOF Middleweight and Light Heavyweight champion David Branch has signed a multi fight agreement with the UFC citing a report by Ariel Helwani.
David Branch has taken to Twitter to express his gratitude as well.
I want to thank my fans for all of the amazing support you guys have given me on twitter this AM I’m happy to be back home @ufc

David Branch (20-3) is on an eleven fight winning streak, which is remarkable. He had a previous stint in the UFC, where he went 2-2. It is believed he’ll limit his fights to one division within the UFC and focus primarily at 185 and the Middleweight division. It will be interesting to see where he fits within that division, and whether he is able to compete at that highest level.
Branch has a lot of upside, and should add to the UFC’s top-heavy Middleweight division. A debut fight has not been signed at this point. It is expected to take place sometime in the early summer.
