Brian Ortega speaks on his UFC 231 performance and doctor stoppage

I think it’s safe to say that the doctor waving off the Max Holloway vs Brian Ortega fight was a good decision. Lord knows that referee, Yves Lavigne, would never have stopped it. Thankfully, Holloway’s thrashing of Ortega was called off due to injuries that Ortega had sustained in their fight.

Holloway shattered Ortega’s face, but Ortega was just too damn tough for his own good. He fought hard until the very end and truthfully, I don’t know how he didn’t go down, because he was hit with everything.

T-City took to his Instagram and revealed his injuries, thanks, and intent.

“Doctor stopped it and I agree. Broken nose and a broken thumb I was willing to die in there. Last night was Max’s night. I’ll be back. Thank you to everyone who’s always believed in me and supported me.”

Ortega is a stud and will be back. If Holloway stays at 145 the odds are good that we will see them scrap again.
