Tyron Woodley Presents – Champ Life UFC 214, Episode 2

Champ Life

UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley is back, with Episode 2 of Champ Life UFC 214

Tyron Woodley produces perhaps the best videos of any fighter in MMA. He understands what the fans want to see, and his production values are top notch. Whoever works on these with him are doing an incredible job.  Here he presents Ep. 2 of the UFC 214 Edition of the Champ Life series.

The episode opens with Tyron in the locker room post-UFC 214, getting his shoulder treated. It came out after the fight, that he injured his shoulder during the first round of his fight with Demian Maia.  He was still able to stuff all 21 of Maia’s takedown effects, and cruise to a unanimous shutout decision victory.

The video then takes a week prior to the fight and opens in New York City were Tyron is making an appearance on Sirius Radio on Sway’s Universe show. He’s nervous because he’s going to rap on the show, and as he says, he’s not a rapper. He actually does a good job, and Din Thomas is on hand to give him props as well.

We see him get a midnight workout in, before flying to Los Angeles. Tyron goes through the press conference, and all the media he has to do before the fight. Finally it’s fight day. The remainder of the video takes place during fight day, and wraps him post-fight at the press conference.  Check it out.

Bellator 179: In Focus | Rory MacDonald – Training for a debut

Rory MacDonald

Rory MacDonald makes his promotional debut Friday night.

In this Bellator video, we get a bit of a look behind the scenes at Rory MacDonald. Rory is making his promotional debut Friday night against Paul Daley. We see him training up in BC, Canada preparing for his debut.

It’s not just Rory working out, we hear from his coaches, teammates and see him spending time with his daughter. It’s a great look at a fighter who despite his fame and achievements in the sport of MMA, has remained a mystery to most.  The Red Kid will meet Paul “Semtex” Daley in the highly anticipated matchup, headlining Bellator 179.

Rory has a professional record of 18-4 and defeated such stars as BJ Penn, Jake Ellenberger, Demain Maia and current UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.  He’ll be looking to earn a title shot with a win in his debut for Bellator. Tune in Friday night live and free on Spike and see what happens.

Joe Lauzon UFC Fight Night 108 Video Blog, Episode 1 – Taking care of Business

Joe Lauzon

Joe Lauzon is among the most entertaining fighters on earth.

In this, the first episode of Joe Lauzon’s video blog for UFC Fight Night 108, we see Joe arrive in Nashville, ahead of his fight with Stevie Ray.  He is shown the weekly schedule of events, and then we see him checking out his Reebok gear. He brought some of his old Reebok gear and they said if he wears that, he’ll be fined.  Interesting.

We then follow Joe to a small room where he signs his autograph time after time on a series of posters. It’s the less glamorous side of the UFC.  We see him pass Sam Alvey in a hallway and true to form, Alvey is all smiles.  Watching Joe walk through this for the umpteenth time, it really seems routine.  He does a little AMA session and someone asks him about his post-fight party.  He says, he’ll probably find a Five Guys, or some other burger place and eat “like a fat kid. Maybe some ice cream.”  He’s so at ease.

We see Joe being interviewed by John Morgan from MMA Junkie, all part of doing his media responsibilities for the week.  He has a great attitude about fighting. He’s put in the work, done all he can, and now all he has to do is fight.  Wednesday night, Joe weighs 165 pounds and we see him doing a light workout.

The video closes with Joe eating a big burger and looking into the camera, and saying, “156, here I come.”  Classic Joe Lauzon.

UFC 209: Champ Camp Season 3 Episode 3

tyron woodley champ camp

Another episode of  Tyron Woodley’s Champ Camp.

Mixed Martial Arts fighters are more and more taking their marketing and promotion into their own hands. There are fighters who do video blogs, and then there is Tyron Woodley’s Champ Camp.  It’s time and time again one of the highest quality, best-produced video series on the web.  This episode is no different.

Woodley is training for his fight at UFC 209 with Stephen Thompson as Rufassport. We then see Woodley preparing a meal with his new training partner, Sage Northcutt.  These two need a buddy cop movie really bad. Poor Sage, he just wants to work out and do flips, but Tyron has him washing chicken feet in the sink.  Yes, chicken feet, complete with their claws. Sage doesn’t seem convinced that this is something he needs to eat.  It’s pretty funny.  Din Thomas is also in the mix, and the three of them together are magic.

Tyron, Din and Sage go to a local elementary school and Tyron gives the kids a talk, giving back to his community. After he’s finished, they fighters stay and sign autographs, it’s a positive insight into what drives Woodley, and what makes him tick.

After they leave the school, we’re back in the gym with Tyron and Sage drilling some wrestling.  It’s good to see Ben Askren working with them as well. He is among the best Welterweights in the world and has long been deserving to be in the UFC.

We see Tyron go through a litany of media responsibilities and interview, and weigh-ins and what has to be a grind of monumental levels.  He’s through it all, and it’s almost time to fight.

We see him after the fight, and he tells the story that Evan Shoman shared here, about giving his belt to a mother who had lost her daughter. It’s a touching story, and more reason to both admire and respect Tyron Woodley.  Check out the video.

Alistair Overeem: “The Reem”, Season 4 – Episode 2

Alistair Overeem: "The Reem", Season 4 - Episode 2

This weekend at UFC 209 we will be treated to a big heavyweight matchup with contenders that are smack-dab in the middle of the rankings. Alistair Overeem will be taking on Mark Hunt to open the main card, and the fight promises to set an explosive tone for the rest of the night.

The two goliaths actually fought once before, all the way back in 2008 at Dream 5 in Osaka, Japan. Overeem won with a modified armbar in the first round, but with it being 9 years later we can expect two different fighters this time around, so anything can happen.

As he continues to prepare for his upcoming bout with Hunt, Overeem brings us behind the scenes of his training once again with the second episode of “The Reem”, Alistair’s YouTube reality show which is now in its fourth season.

In this episode, Alistair takes us to Koh Samui, Thailand, where he puts in some work at Superpro. He then heads back to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he puts the finishing touches on his training at Jackson-Wink.

Check out an all-new episode of “The Reem”:

UFC 209 takes place this Saturday, March 4th, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card starts at 10pm EST, live on pay-per-view.

UFC 209: Champ Camp Season 3, Episode 2

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has been putting out some of the best content in all of mixed martial arts with his two YouTube series’ The Champ Life and Champ Camp. Both are a great look into Woodley’s life as a champion, father, and role model.

As he prepares to defend his welterweight title for the 2nd time against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC 209, Woodley gives us a closer look at his training with the 3rd season of Champ Camp, which just dropped its second episode today.

Episode 2 brings us to Roufusport where Woodley gets it in with Sage Northcutt, who shows us his dance moves while sitting on a stability ball. He then takes us with him to the Super Bowl in Houston where he rubs shoulders with a who’s who of the entertainment world, including a little partying with Snoop Dogg. After the biggest night in football is over he heads back home where he teaches class and plays a little laser tag.

Episode 2 shows just how busy the life of a champion is, and how many commitments Woodley has outside of the cage.
