There is no athlete that gives more quotable headlines than that of a fighter. Muhammad Ali is arguably the pound for pound king of the trash talk game with some of his smooth rhymes throughout is fight career. Mike Tyson, while not quite as eloquent, gave us some pretty wild lines (anyone remember him declaring he would eat Lennox Lewis’ children?)
In recent times the undefeated king of the ring Floyd Mayweather has taken up the trash talk torch and ran with it throughout his career. If you’ve ever watched HBO’s hit show 24/7 than you’ve been privy to some of Floyd’s best verbal work.
Since his retirement, Floyd has been making headlines in regards to a dream fight that is likely never to come to fruition. UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has been vocal in his wanting to fight Floyd. Since speculation of a fight first broke the two have been throwing jabs at one another in interviews and in social media.
Last week Floyd posted a video where he claimed he would “slap the shit out of McGregor”. UFC president Dana White recently responded, basically saying that Floyd better hope that he never comes face to face with “The Notorious” one.
Not to be left out, Conor took to social media last night to give his own response…
