Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is arguably one of the most dominant MMA fighters on the planet, male or female. She currently holds the Invicta FC featherweight championship and a record of 2-0 in the UFC to go along with it. But this morning she earned a long awaited title that no fight promotion could offer her, that of a United States citizen.
“The ceremony of becoming a citizen represents all the hard work and commitment I’ve displayed reaching my goals”, said Justino. In her recent must-watch documentary CYBORG, released earlier this year, she discussed her excitement in one day becoming a citizen of the United States, buying a house, and essentially living the American dream. While it’s not the fight with Ronda Rousey that she’s been seeking, I’m sure this moment feels just as good.
This weekend, Cyborg is already giving back to her community as she has been known to do, with a a charity Muay Thai class in her annual “Kick For Kids” event. On Saturday December 17th at 1pm, bring one unwrapped toy to Total MMA Studios in Tustin, CA, and learn from one of the best strikers in all of MMA.
Congratulations, Cris, on achieving one of your dreams!
