Dana White addresses if Conor McGregor’s next fight will be in a cage or a ring

When asked where the UFC was in regards to the endlessly talked about fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, UFC President Dana White said,

“I don’t know where we’re at. We’re nowhere with it.”

Thank you, Dana White. More than anything, I want this ridiculousness to end. Floyd vs Conor is and always has been a pipe dream. In my opinion, McGregor started all of this boxing hype so he can get paid more money fighting in the UFC. Talking about all of these millions of dollars could just be a ploy to milk the UFC for a much larger payday in his next fight.

It looks as if Dana White has finally jumped off of the hype train that is McGregor vs Mayweather. He has every intention of seeing his lightweight champion come back to the UFC and defend a championship for the first time in his career.

“I expect Conor’s next fight to be in the UFC. In mixed martial arts. Against the winner of Khabib and Ferguson.”

Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov will square off next weekend at UFC 209. The winner of that fight will be crowned the interim, number-one, possibly next in line, maybe… UFC Lightweight Champion.
