Should DC be the Fighter of the Year in 2018? DC thinks so.

As 2018 draws to a close, questions arise about who did what the best. Daniel Cormier makes a strong case for Fighter of the Year and many people agree already. In fact, if any fighter even thinks they are close, they may need to reassess. DC’s numbers do not lie.

In January, Cormier fought the red hot Volkan Oezdemir. It was a light heavyweight title defense for DC but he treated it like it was for the title. DC dispatched of Oezdemir in the second round via TKO.

DC would get a huge opportunity in July to become a double champ in both the light heavyweight and heavyweight division. Standing in his way at heavyweight was Stipe Miocic. Stipe set the record for the most title defenses in UFC heavyweight history. Cormier knocked him out in the very first round.

That brought DC to this weekend when he faced Derrick Lewis, who was on a 9-1 streak in his last 10 fights. We all saw how that went down as DC dispatched of the Black Beast fairly easily.

What is crazy is that he’s 39 years old. Clearly he has YEARS left in his fight career, but he’s just choosing to fight once more and then riding off into the sunset.

DC for FOTY in 2018? He gets our vote.
