UFC possibly looking to return to Seattle in August with Demetrious Johnson in the main event
Mighty Mouse looks like he might be defending his title in Seattle in August.
Of course in the UFC, nothing is written in stone. However, sources are seeming to indicate that the UFC is looking to have Demetrious Johnson defend his Flyweight title in August in Seattle. The UFC visited Seattle in July of 2013 and that was a great event. It was highlighted by Demetrious Johnson defeating John Moraga in the main event.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report this possible event, via twitter.
If Garbrandt can’t go and UFC makes DJ vs. TJ, White tells me it’d be in August. Not official, but looking at DJ headlining PPV in Seattle.

Demetrious Johnson has already stated, he’s not entirely interested in a fight with TJ Dillashaw if Cody Garbrandt is unable to compete due to a back injury. Dillashaw has expressed an interest in fighting Johnson for the title at 125 pounds. He told Dana White he would like to keep Jonson from breaking Anderson Silva’s record. The fight with Johnson and Dillashaw would be the biggest fight they could make at Flyweight. Recently Johnson has expressed some unhappiness with his compensation. It remains to be seen if he’d step up and help the UFC. Not without a significant pay increase.
TJ Dillashaw and Demetrious Johnson would be a really compelling fight. If Cody is unable to compete, it’s the Flyweight title fight I hope that gets made. It seems that another option at this point seems to be Ray Borg facing Johnson.
If and when they definitively name Seattle as a location for a UFC event this summer, we’ll let you know who, when and where.
