“I wanted an easy fight to start off the year that could get me name recognition. Boom. Got it. Cowboy.”
It’s not commonplace to hear people say that Donald Cerrone is an easy fight. You want to know why? Because he isn’t. Jorge Masvidal doesn’t agree with that sentiment. Cowboy is simply an opponent with a big name for him to build his own name off of.
The two fighters will meet in the center of the cage this weekend, at Ultimate Fight Night: Denver. This fight is for the fans. Whether it is a number one contender fight for the welterweight championship, remains to be seen. As it stands right now, this is a fight between two of the baddest guys in the game.
The video shows each combatant’s daily routines. While Masvidal trains in Colorado to get acclimated to the elevation, Cerrone does Cerrone things. Aside from training his ass off, Cowboy LIVES his ass off. If he isn’t on a lake wakeboarding somewhere, he is shooting ducks in the mountains.
This fight should be phenomenal. Masvidal is usually a very slow starter, but fighting Cerrone should bring ‘Gamebred’ out rather quickly. It truly is great matchmaking, putting these two together. Cerrone forces Masvidal to fight and Masvidal brings out the dog in Cowboy.
It doesn’t get much better than this, folks.
