The LFA announced today the signing of one-time UFC welterweight hopeful, Erick Silva. Silva looks to start anew in a new organization. While Silva hasn’t said why he didn’t renew his contract with the UFC, his faltering record may have been a reason why.
The LFA announced Silva’s first order of business will be in the main-event against former Bellator competitor, Nick Barnes.

Barnes has gone 3-2 in his last five fight, while Silva had a rough go at it towards the end of his UFC tenure. Silva’s last five fights saw him go 1-4. It wasn’t just the losses that hurt, but he seemed to devolve into a different fighter.
Hopefully, Silva can reclaim his past form and show us what made him a highly touted prospect in the first place.
