The numbers are in for UFC Fight Night 104
UFC Fight Night 104 featured an exciting clash between Dennis Bermudez and a returning Chan Sung Jung. It had been some three and a half years since “The Korean Zombie” competed inside the Octagon. The fans tuned in to see his return in pretty high numbers.
According to SportsTVRatings.com, the event averaged 1.15 million viewers, peaking at nearly 1.3 million viewers during the main event. The preliminary fights averaged 834,000 viewers.
To compare, during last year’s Super Bowl weekend card, the numbers are down a touch. In 2016, the card featured a main event consisting of Stephen Thompson and Johny Hendricks. The average viewers for that event was 1.3 million. That card, Fight Night 88 was originally slated to be a PPV event. It was instead offered for free when Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum were both forced off the card with injuries.
The ratings are in no way a disaster for the UFC. The event was among the most seen sporting events on cable television that day. Falling behind only the four NCAA basketball games that ran on ESPN.
