UFC Fight Night 105 in Halifax adds three additional fights

Halifax card gets new main event and 3 additional fights added

Earlier today, we reported that UFC Fight Night 105 was getting a transplanted main event.  Travis Browne and Derrick Lewis jumped from UFC 208 and will headline the Halifax event instead.  The card continues to take shape as the UFC has announced additional bouts for the February 19th card.

MMA Junkie reported the addition of the three fights, including Liz Carmouche taking on Sara McMann.  Sam Sicilia will clash with Gavin Tucker and Ryan Janes will take on Gerald Meerschaert.

Sara McMann (10-3) is a very talented wrestler who in her last outing utilized improved striking to hurt Alexis Davis before submitting her via submission at the Ultimate Fighter 24 finale.  The three losses in her career have all come to women who have worn the UFC Bantamweight title, in Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate and current champion, Amanda Nunes.

Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche (11-5) enters the fight on the heels of a decision victory over Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night 63.  It will have been nearly two years between fights for Liz.  Carmouche gained notoriety when she competed against Ronda Rousey at UFC 157, the first time women competed in the Octagon.  It was a good fight, and paved the way for what women are doing now in the sport of MMA.

The updated UFC Fight Night 105 card looks like this:

Derrick Lewis (17-4) vs. Travis Browne (18-5-1)
Hector Lombard (35-6) vs. Johny Hendricks (17-6)
Elias Theodorou (12-1) vs. Cezar Ferreira (12-5)
Thiago Santos (13-5) vs. Jack Marshman (21-5)
Liz Carmouche (11-5) vs. Sara McMann (10-3)
Sam Sicilia (14-7) vs. Gavin Tucker (9-0)
Alessandro Ricci (10-4) vs. Alvaro Herrera (9-4)
Santiago Ponzinibbio (24-3) vs. Nordine Taleb (11-3)
Gerald Meerschaert (25-8) vs. Ryan Janes (9-1)
Reginaldo Vieira (14-4) vs. Aiemann Zahabi (6-0)
Carla Esparza (11-3) vs. Randa Markos (6-4)

UFC Fight Night Halifax takes place on Sunday February 19th, and airs live on FS1.
