Fight Night 125 will be headlined by Middleweights Lyoto Machida and Eryk Anders
The UFC is headed back to South America in February for an event that despite not being fully announced, is already looking really solid. Lyoto Machida will face Eryk Anders in a Middleweight match-up. It seems as if Machida might be on his way out, while Anders is firmly making his name in the UFC. This could be a passing of the torch as it were.
Lyoto Machida (22-8) is an experienced former Light Heavyweight champion. He has fallen on hard times, losing three fights in a row and four of his last five. In his last trip to the Octagon, he was knocked out by Derek Brunson in the first round. That fight was only six weeks ago.
Eryk Anders (10-0) is a hot prospect who has gone 2-0 since entering the UFC. Lyoto Machida marks a dramatic rise in competition for Anders and this fight will serve as an excellent barometer as to where Anders is in his development as a mixed martial artist. He’s a former starting Linebacker for Alabama and won a national title in his senior season.
