“The Filipino Assassin” Phillipe Nover retires from mixed martial arts
A short while ago, “The Filipino Assassin” Phillipe Nover took to his Instagram account to announce his retirement from mixed martial arts.
Phillipe ends his career at 11-8-1 following a split decision loss to Rick Glenn at UFC 208 in Nover’s hometown of Brooklyn.
“Super”, as he was once nicknamed early on, burst onto the scene as a contestant on season 8 of The Ultimate Fighter. After a successful run at the TUF house, he lost to Efrain Escuardo in the TUF 8 finale.
He already has his sites set on his post-fighting career as he announced on twitter that he would be starting school to secure a master’s degree to become a nurse practitioner.
We here at MikeSwick.com would like to thank and congratulate Nover on his career in mixed martial arts, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
I want to thank the UFC, Dana White, and Sean Shelby for giving me a second chance at my dreams as a fighter. I'm officially retiring from MMA. A big thanks to my teammates and coaches over the years, as well as my supportive family and friends. I'll be moving on to focus on many other things in my life. It was an amazing run and I'm glad I tried my best at it.
