Floyd Mayweather to Dana White: “You used to carry my bags.”

There is no story in sports right now quite like the ongoing saga between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. Sure the NFL playoffs is on its way to bringing us our Super Bowl LI matchup, but no match ever tops a huge prize fight.

Of all the talk up to this point, there is yet to be any mention of any history between Floyd Mayweather and Dana White. That all changed this weekend when FightHype.com caught up with Mayweather for a brief chat.

It was classic Mayweather as he threw a few barbs Dana’s way and continues to promote a fight that may or may not happen.

Both fighters want the fight but there is the small difference of $75 million dollars that’s keeping them apart at the moment. But there is a TON of money to be made if this fight happens so it can never be ruled out.

It shouldn’t take long for Dana to respond as the trio have been going back and forth at rapid pace. Conor has opted to do most of his talking via social media, while Mayweather and Dana have been appearing on ESPN, FOX Sports, and the occasional TMZ grab.

There is no word yet on when Conor McGregor will be returning to the octagon. At UFC 205 in November he became to the first two-weight champion, holding both the featherweight and lightweight titles. Since that time we have seen an interim featherweight champion crowned and an interim lightweight title announced.

With no title around his waist, and no return date set, is Conor possibly using his time to train solely in boxing for a potential matchup with Mayweather? That could very well make sense for “The Notorious” one as there is no single fight out there that could generate more money for him than a showdown with Mayweather.

As always, we will continue to update this saga as it unfolds…
