Cub Swanson has a new UFC deal and an opponent will face Frankie Edgar in April
Cub Swanson looked like he had one foot out of the UFC when he was removed from the UFC.com Rankings. He showed back up and now he has a fight in the not too distant future. ESPN was first to report that Swanson will face Frankie Edgar at Fight Night 128. The two previously fought in 2014. Frankie Edgar stopped Cub at 4:56 of the 5th round that night. Cub Swanson will be looking for revenge this time.
Cub Swanson (25-8) enters this fight having won four of his last five. His loss came at the hands of Brian Ortega who coincidentally just defeated Frankie Edgar as well. Swanson is ranked 4th in the Featherweight division. If he can earn a victory over Frankie Edgar, he could find himself in line for a world title shot.
Frankie Edgar (22-6) has won 8 out of his last ten and is ALWAYS ranked near the top of his division. He has two losses in the past five years. He lost to Jose Aldo, arguably the best Featherweight of all time and he lost in his last outing to Brian Ortega. Frankie is always a favorite anytime he fights. He’s just a damn near perfect fighter.
This event takes place in Atlantic City on April 21st. The main event features a bout between Kevin Lee and Edson Barboza.
