…but not in the way you might be thinking. UFC Hall of Famer and former light heavyweight champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell will be part of an autograph session and meet and greet with World Series of Fighting during their historic New Year’s Eve card.
Liddell, who unfortunately was part of a round of layoffs at the UFC by new owners WME-IMG, is one of the most iconic MMA fighters of all-time. With his signature mohawk and devastating right hand, he quickly became one of the most loved and recognized fighters in the company’s history.
Joining former rival, champion, and Hall of Famer Randy “The Natural” Couture, Liddell will be part of a signing session that will also include 2-time Olympic gold medalist in Judo Kayla Harrison and WSOF president and former kickboxing champion “Sugar” Ray Sefo. The event will take place in the lobby of the Theater at Madison Square Garden from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
It is a big day for the WSOF as their New Year’s Eve card features a whopping 4 title fights and marks their introduction to the state of New York. With the main card starting at 4pm EST from the Theater at Madison Square Garden and airing on NBC, this could be quite the coming out party for the World Series of Fighting.
While the details of Liddell’s involvement aren’t known beyond the autograph signing, one would have to think that the promotion would want to capitalize on The Iceman’s fame and fan base in some capacity.
Tickets to this historic WSOF card are still available. Don’t miss out on this once in a life time event in the world’s most famous city.
