Invicta FC 21 Results – Megan Anderson stops Charmaine Tweet to win Featherweight Title

Invicta FC 21 is in the books, and Megan Anderson Finished Charmaine Tweet to claim Interim Featherweight Title.

Tonight in Kansas City, Mo, Invicta FC 21 took place in front of an excited crowd. The event was also available via the UFC Fight Pass service, and was a great night of fights.  The main event was a hotly contested clash for the Interim Featherweight Title between Charmaine Tweet and Megan Anderson.

The first round was back and forth, with both fighters having periods of success.  Tweet landed a spinning forarm, and several overhand right hands that battered and bloodied the nose of Anderson.  For her part, Anderson used great footwork to force Tweet against the cage, and landed heavy combos.  It was a back and forth round, and when it was over, the fans were on their feet.

The second round saw more of the same, until Anderson caught Tweet with a series of heavy shots along the fence, hurting and wobbling Tweet. A few more shots, and Tweet was turning around and covering her face, signaling the referee halt the action. It was a brilliantly violent performance for Anderson who had a post fight message for Dana White.  She said, “I just want to say, hey Dana White,  you tell Holly or Germaine to keep my belt warm cause I’m f*cking coming for it,” She’s an absolute savage, and fans love it.

The rest of the card featured some great fights as well

In the co-main event Raqucl Pa’aluhi took Pannie Kianzad down early, and worked to take her back.  Once she had her back, she controlled her and landed multiple punches to Pannie’s head and face.  It took a couple minutes, but eventually Raquel locked on a body triangle and was able to secure a rear naked choke.  It was a huge victory for Raquel who hadn’t been in the cage in a year.  She puts herself in the mix at 135 pounds for a title shot.

In a Featherweight clash, Leah Letson landed a brutal head kick, stopping UFC veteran Elizabeth Phillips in the first 90 seconds of the fight.  It was a brutal head kick, followed by some hammer-fists.  Phillips argued the call, but she was out and it was clearly a good stoppage.  It was quite a debut for Letson.
