John Dodson vs Jimmie Rivera bumped up to main card.

It was kind of a head-scratcher that Jimmie Rivera vs John Dodson was originally scheduled to be on the UFC 228 undercard. With Nicco Montano vs Valentina Shevchenko being scrapped as the co-main event, Rivera vs Dodson has been bumped up to the main card.

Dodson (20-9) is coming off a win against the surging Pedro Munhoz and has been a perennial flyweight title contender. He re-signed with the UFC and is looking to keep his streak of wins going in the bantamweight division.

His opponent, Jimmie Rivera (21-2) was on a 20-fight win streak before he dropped his last fight to Marlon Moraes. The fact that these two guys are ranked at the top of the division and were originally scheduled to fight on the UFC 228 undercard makes very little sense.

At least now the two fighters are where they belong.

For the record, Diego Sanchez is on the Fight Pass prelims, which also makes no sense.
