Jon Fitch plays “Learning to fly” as a tribute to Tom Petty

Tom Petty passed at the age of 66 due to cardiac arrest.

Monday is one of those days that we’d just as soon like to forget. People woke up to the tragedies of Las Vegas and then later in the day, beloved singer Tom Petty passed away. It was an all-around horrendous day. Jon Fitch, who said he was a big Tom Petty fan sang a song on his behalf.  Fitch said this on his Instagram.

Man. Tom Petty is one of my all time favorites. Really sad that he is gone. I sang a song for George Michael, so you bet your ass ima sing for Tom Petty. #tompetty #learningtofly

It’s a nice rendition, accompanied by Fitch playing his ukelele.
