Julianna Pena levies heavy claim about Ronda Rousey

This weekend’s UFC on FOX main eventer Julianna Pena has been pretty vocal about former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey for quite some time. Pena, who still would like to step into the octagon with Rousey despite her losses, continued throwing darts Ronda’s way this week.

Speaking on the UFC Unfiltered podcast with Jim Norton and Matt Serra, the Venezuelan Vixen discussed a recent claim by Raquel Pennington that sparring partners were made to sign an NDA during Ronda’s training leading up to UFC 207.

“These girls have to sign these waivers to say that ‘We never hit Ronda, and we’ll never talk about this type of training ever and all this stuff, you know? She’s not really taking the toll in the fight camp of getting punched in the face legitimately so she doesn’t really know what that feels like.”

“She’s a superstar and they don’t want to see her get any damage. So, whenever the girls would go hard on her, whenever they would come forward and start banging it out on her, they would tell them, ‘Hey, knock it off. Stop it. Don’t hit her so hard and then sign this waiver and say that you were never here and that you never punched her. Don’t ever talk about how well you did in training and stuff like that because you have to sign this dotted line or else we’ll sue you for a million dollars.'”

How Pena knows this, given the fact that NDAs were signed by fighters, is anybody’s guess. Perhaps she’s just shooting from the hip in an attempt to get a rise out of Ronda with the hopes that it will lead to a fight.

Whether or not that works we will have to wait and see. But first Julianna has to worry about this weekend and Valentina Shevchenko. The two will meet at UFC on FOX from Denver in a clash to see who is next in line to face bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes for her coveted title.

UFC on FOX from Denver airs tonight at 8pm EST.
