Matt Hughes may return, if he finds a beatable opponent. Mike Swick: “I’m your huckleberry!”
We wrote a piece the other day about Matt Hughes saying he would potentially come back to fight in MMA.
“If I can find an opponent that I think I could beat, I would go again. I might even be talking to an organization about that. The guy I’ve been talking about fighting, might have been in this chair.”
Mike Swick didn’t even wait to find out who, what, when, or where Hughes was talking about. He immediately went on Twitter and began his campaign to get a crack at Hughes.
With all due respect, I would come out of retirement and fight Hughes if it was offered. I always wanted that one. https://t.co/FbIF9W8TSd

It looks as if fans are on board with this fight too.
Swick has always wanted that ‘big-name’ fight and Hughes is definitely a big name. It usually takes a special someone to get a guy to come out of retirement, but Swick seems more than ready to take it head on.
Then again, Hughes seems set on fighting a ‘winnable’ fight and Swick could prove to be too intimidating. Hughes possibly fighting Royce Gracie seems silly if he wants a challenge. Royce is 50 years old and Hughes beat him 11 years ago already. Swick is shredded, over 200 pounds, has bricks for hands, and has been training with amateur wrestling world champion, Amir Aliakbari.
On paper, Swick is a nightmare matchup for the 43-year-old Hughes, who seemingly hasn’t done much training in the past few years. It remains to be seen if Hughes will bite on Swick’s challenge or if Hughes will take a safe easier fight.
