Anderson Silva out, enter Michael Bisping vs Kelvin Gastelum

We’ve barely had time to digest his loss to GSP, and he’s already getting back in the cage.

Michael Bisping has no quit in him. Just a week ago we saw him choked unconscious at UFC 217 by Middleweight Champion Georges St-Pierre and now, he’s jumping back into the cage to face Kelvin Gastelum. Anderson Silva ran afoul again with USADA and was pulled from his Fight Night 122 fight with Gastelum in China. Well, Bisping has stepped up and will take the place of Silva in just two weeks.

Michael Bisping (30-8) will be stepping into the cage with someone who is on the rise in the Middleweight division. A former Welterweight standout, he’s been doing a good job at Middleweight as well. Bisping, on the other hand, has beaten a who’s who of UFC fighters. He has a swagger and a confidence that just doesn’t break. He will be looking to get immediately back in the title mix with a win over Gastelum.

Kelvin Gastelum (14-3) is coming off of a loss to Chris Weidman but dismantled Tim Kennedy and Vitor Belfort in prior Middleweight clashes. He’s young and very talented. This fight could be a major step in the right direction for Gastelum to propel himself into the mix at Middleweight. He’s currently ranked 9th in the UFC and Bisping is 2nd. He can leapfrog a lot of fighters with a victory over Bisping.

UFC Fight Night 122 takes place November 25th from Shanghai, China.
