Michelle Waterson: The Power of Beauty

Michelle Waterson: The Power of Beauty

The UFC women’s featherweight division will make it’s debut this weekend at UFC 208 when Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie throw down for the inaugural title. But one of the promotion’s most exciting divisions is the women’s strawweight division. And one of that division’s most exciting fighters is Michelle Waterson.

When your nickname is “The Karate Hottie” and you were a successful model before becoming a fighter, having articles written about you with the title “The Power of Beauty” is all but expected.

But “beauty” is a subjective term, and its meaning can be found in a lot of places. For Michelle, she sees beauty in being a mom and a fighter. She sees it as a manifestation of her hard work.

“I feel the most beautiful when I’m covered in sweat; my hard work, my passion just pouring out of me.”

Waterson is hoping to fight for the UFC strawweight title this year and has definitely punched her card to be put in the conversation. After a dominant submission win over Paige VanZant this past December, Michelle essentially put the division on notice.

There is no word yet on her next opponent, but after her recent signing with WME, and a great appearance at the desk during UFC on FOX last month, not to mention her amazing documentary “Fight Mom”, it’s safe to say that things are looking pretty good for the future of “The Karate Hottie”.
