It was reported via Twitter by Ariel Helwani that Michelle Waterson has signed with entertainment giant WME. The UFC was of course bought last year by the WME-IMG conglomerate for $4.2 billion dollars.
“The Karate Hottie” signed with Brad Slater, the same WME agent that represents Ronda Rousey. The signing is only natural, as it is expected that a number of high profile fighters will eventually sign with agents at WME for outside business opportunities.
In Michelle’s case, she already has a highly-touted documentary titled “Fight Mom” that came out days before her big primetime win over Paige VanZant. Waterson was also a model before her career as a mixed martial arts fighter.
She has all the tools to be very successful outside of the ring so it is a great signing by both parties. No word on who Waterson will be facing next, although there have been rumors of a possible title match with UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Worth noting, as well, that Waterson recently signed with Ronda Rousey's agent @slate9 of WME to rep her following the PVZ win.
