This is a monster fight for all parties involved.
It seemed like a Thursday like any other, until the news broke that a mega-fight had been signed for UFC 230. Dustin Poirier defeated Eddie Alvarez last Saturday. In doing so threw his hat in the ring for title contention in the UFC’s crowded lightweight division. He was going to have to wait a bit for a title shot, as Conor McGregor and champion Khabib Nurmagomedov seems destined for a clash in 2018. He didn’t have to wait long for a new fight though.
Perhaps the biggest money fighter in the UFC outside of Conor McGregor is Nate Diaz. He will be making his return to the Octagon at UFC 230 to fight Poirier. It’s not only a great fight from a competitive standpoint, but it should provide big business for the UFC at a time when they need the help.
UFC 230 takes place on November 3rd in New York City at Madison Square Garden. You can see the current potential fight card, here.
