Nurmagomedov: I want to beat Tony Ferguson. Take interim bullsh*t belt. Then after, Conor for the real belt.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is never at a loss for words. Ever. Not even when he’s fighting. In his last fight with Michael Johnson, he was talking while punching. For all the talking Khabib does, his fighting is even scarier. He wants that UFC Lightweight Title and he wants it right now. If that doesn’t happen, he’ll smash whomever is in the way of that. Right now, that man is Tony Ferguson.

Ferguson and Nurmagomedov have been trading verbal jabs at each other on social media. The UFC tried to make the #1 contender fight between them, but it’s not happening. Ferguson wants to make the same amount of money that Khabib is making, but Tony is under contract for a different payday. Khabib put on his daddy pants and tweeted this out:

Khabib is a realist too. He knows that Tony Ferguson is also the top contender and that is why he wants to fight him. If the UFC won’t give him the champion Conor McGregor, give him the next closest thing.

He was on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani today and spoke very candidly of where he is at with the whole situation.

“I don’t want to talk with him. I want to fight with him.”

“I want to beat Tony Ferguson. Take interim bullshit belt. Then after, with Conor for the real belt.”

Helwani agreed with the sentiment that Khabib either deserves the interim tile or the real title.  No other fights make sense for him at this time.

“When I come to this sport, I don’t come to make money or be famous. This (fame) is part of the game. When you win all the time you have money. You are famous.”

Khabib is ready to fight and has already been training. He’s wants Ferguson and he’s dead serious about his offer of $200,ooo to him. You can feel his passion for wanting to fight and cutting through all of the BS. He constantly reiterated that he’s done playing games and he wants gold. Interim or otherwise.
