Paige VanZant will be meeting Jessy Rose-Clark in St. Louis in January
Paige VanZant has been absent from the Octagon in 2017. She was scheduled to face Jessica Eye but VanZant opted out of the fight with a back injury. She has since turned down a match with Eye, much to Eye’s disappointment. Paige recently sent out a message saying she was facing the winner of TUF 26 for the title next. However, the UFC threw fire on that and told her to slow her roll in so many words.
Now. it seems she will be back in the Octagon taking on newly debuted Jessy Rose-Clark. MMA Fighting was first with the news. Jessy defeated Bec Rawlings last weekend in her debut with the UFC. She’s 8-4 as a professional and will be Paige’s first opponent in the Flyweight division. Paige has competed in the Strawweight class up until now.
Currently, UFC Fight Night 124 is headlined by Vitor Belfort facing Uriah Hall, but I’m guessing a potential fight with hometown hero Tyron Woodley could headline the card if things fall through at UFC 219 with Tyron and Nate Diaz.
