Here we go again, another fighter misses weight by a wide margin.
Tomorrow is PFL’s first card of their new season structure including million dollar winners in each weight class. Well, before the first card could even take place, there’s drama. Some people believe this whole PFL reboot of WSOF is destined to fail, but that remains to be seen. One thing we do know is Shawn Jordan missed the 265-pound weight limit by over nine pounds. Yep. He came in ten pounds heavy.
There is another potential hiccup for PFL and their heavyweights. In another scheduled heavyweight bout both Kelvin Tiller and Alex Nicholson made weight, but the disparity between their weights is greater than what the commission will allow. Tiller weighed in at 265.4 and Nicholson at 214.6. That’s a difference in weight of over 50 pounds. The athletic commission rules state fighters must be no greater than 25 pounds in weight difference.
Right now it’s a big mess and the PFL is attempting to shuffle some things around and see what shakes out. It’s not a great way to open their new season. Such is life. The complete list of weights from the weigh-ins can be seen below.
