Randy Brown gets new opponent for UFC 208

UFC 208 is just one week away and we are inching our way closer to our newest UFC title since December 12, 2014, when Carla Esparza won the inaugural UFC strawweight title. The main event will see Holly Holm take on Germaine de Radamie for the promotion’s inaugural featherweight title.

Also on the card is hometown favorite Randy Brown. Brown’s fight was recently up in the air, however, as his original opponent, George Sullivan, was pulled from the card due to a USADA violation.

The UFC announced that Brown will be taking on Belal Muhammad. Muhammad is 10-2 and is coming off of a loss to Vicente Luque at UFC 205. Belal was 9-0 before entering the UFC and has gone 1-2 since.

Brown currently stands at 9-1, riding a two-fight winning streak with both wins coming in the form of finishes. He is 3-1 since entering the UFC. Randy is a former Ring of Combat welterweight champion and was discovered by Dana White on his reality series “Dana White: Lookin’ For a Fight”.

A strong welterweight contender, a big win by “Rudeboy” could potentially see him crack the top 15 in the division’s rankings.

UFC 208 takes place next Saturday, February 18th from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
