Rashad Evans headed back to Light Heavyweight to face Anthony Smith
Rashad Evans has lost four in a row and is 6 of his last 8 fights.
Rashad Evans has been going through some career struggles. The former Light Heavyweight champion opted to make the move down 20 pounds and fight at Middleweight. The experiment resulted in back to back losses, but for Rashad, the road continues. He is an amazing athlete who has been derailed by injuries on more than one occasion.
At UFC 225 he will meet Anthony Smith, who is coming off of a loss to Thiago Santos but had a three-fight winning streak prior to that defeat. Anthony Smith is a Middleweight who is opting to make the move to Light Heavyweight. His fight with Rashad Evans will be his first in his new weight division.
UFC 225 is set to take place June 9th in Chicago, IL. The feature fight is between Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker for the UFC Middleweight championship. The card is pretty stacked and this is yet another interesting matchup. Claudia Gadelha will finally meet Carla Esparza after the two have been scheduled to fight and for one reason or another, it didn’t happen.
When Rashad isn’t killing it in the gym, he’s there hanging out with the cast of Impractical Jokers, as Evan Shoman wrote about earlier today.
