Sarah Kaufman has a fight set for March 18th with a South Korean promotion

Sarah Kaufman looks to have a fight booked for a new promotion in South Korea

Ariel Helwani tweeted this afternoon that former UFC standout Sarah Kaufman would be returning to action on March 18th. She’s competing for a new South Korean promotion called, Battlefield.  The fight comes for Kaufman after a year on the sidelines. She was released by the UFC in 2015, and didn’t fight in 2016.

Kaufman went 1-2 in the UFC and was surprisingly released. Her two losses were competitive fights against Alexis Davis and Valentina Shevchenko. She was widely considered to be a tough fighter, and a top flight Bantamweight. Sarah recently tweeted about a possible comeback fight, and now it seems to have materialized. We couldn’t be happier for her.

Sarah Kaufman sports a 17-4-1 record and holds victories over such great competitors as Alexis David, Liz Carmouche, Leslie Smith and Miesha Tate.  A durable fighter with tremendous boxing, Kaufman’s style is problematic for anyone.  She pairs her excellent stnad-up with top notch cardio. She trains out of Zuma in Victoria, BC under head coach Adam Zugec.

Little is currently known about this new Battlefield promotion.  An article by MMA Fighting, implies Kaufman’s March 18th opponent could be veteran Jan Finney.  At minimum, Finney is being considered for the fight.  The clash is set to take place in the Bantamweight division.  Sarah Kaufman signed a one fight agreement with the company who makes their promotional debut on March 18th.
