Undefeated Featherweight Shane Burgos fights in NY on July 22nd
Shane Burgos is an undefeated Featherweight who has style fans have come to love. He never backs down, pushes the pace and always delivers the violence. On July 22nd, he will have his third fight under the UFC banner, and ironically for the third time, it’ll be in his home state of New York. He’s competed in Albany, and Buffalo and now will be on the card when the UFC heads to Uniondale for UFC on FOX 25.
Shane Burgos (9-0) began his UFC career with a very impressive victory over Trago Trator at UFC Fight Night 102 in Albany. His second UFC battle took place in April in Buffalo, and Burgos defeated Charles Rosa, taking home an additional 5oK for the fight of the night bonus. Not only did he win the fight, and win the bonus, but he earned a ton of new fans.
In July, he faces Godofredo Pepey (13-4) who has won four of his last five. His loss came to Darren Elkins. His last three wins have all come by way of Submission. So while Burgos will be looking to put Pepey away standing, Pepey will be looking to get the fight to the mat. It’s that clash of wills that makes the recently announced fight so compelling.
Shane Burgos with a win will likely find himself cracking into the top 15 rankings in the division. If Shane has a successful weekend, it’ll mean a victory on Saturday night. Oh, and come Sunday it’ll be a burrito and chocolate lasagna dessert.
Bunker down Uniondale, there’s a Hurricane coming!
UFC on FOX 25 is headlined by a Middleweight bout between Chris Weidman and Kelvin Gastelum.
