Francis NGannou will try and take the UFC Heavyweight title from Stipe Miocic
It looks like the UFC has the idea to strike while the iron is hot. Francis NGannou absolutely ruined Alistair Overeem this past Saturday night. If you didn’t see the knockout, it’s right here. With that being fresh in everyone’s memory, the UFC is rolling out Stipe Miocic to face NGannou at UFC 220 in January.
MMA Junkie was the first to report this news and it has since been confirmed by numerous sources. The fight is expected to headline the UFC 220 card in Boston, MA.
Stipe Miocic (17-2) is an absolutely elite fighter who can stop anyone in the division with either hand. I fully expect him to be ready for the massive test that is NGannou. Stipe has won five in a row, over top names in the division and all impressively. He’s stopped Alistair Overeem, Junior Dos Santos, Mark Hunt, Andrei Arlovski and Fabricio Werdum. He TKO’d all of them. He has great boxing, and his hands are both heavy and fast.
Francis NGannou (11-1) is as scary a fighter as currently exists in the UFC. He’s a massive heavyweight with unnatural power in his hands. Francis has won ten fights in a row, and his stoppage rate is 100 percent. His last fight resulted in a highlight reel knockout of Alistair Overeem.
This should be an amazing fight and it absolutely won’t go the distance. Someone is getting knocked out in Boston, bet on it.
