Rousimar Palhares doesn’t have a great time in Moscow, Russia

Rousimar Palhares

Rousimar Palhares has a weekend to forget at Fight Night Global 85

Rousimar Palhares isn’t one of the more popular fighters in the sport. He’s known as a cheater, and someone who holds submissions too long, injuring opponents needlessly. All in all, the guy people call “Paul Harris” is less than liked. He suffered through a dismal weekend this weekend in Moscow, where he missed weight and then was finished in under a minute. Yikes.

Rousimar Palhares was set to fight for the Fight Nights Global Welterweight title. He had to weigh in at 170 pounds max and instead tips the scales at 173.9.  Just like that, his title shot was gone. He was still able to fight, and that didn’t go so well for him either. His opponent Aliaskhab Khizriev held onto the fence more than once to avoid being taken off his feet during leglock attempts. Well, you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

When it was all said and done, it took less than a minute for Palhares to be battered with ground and pound and the fight to be stopped. Not a good couple of day for Rousimar, who is now 1-2-1 in his last four fights. You can see the fight in its entirety below.
