Aljamain Sterling details Cody Stamann’s popping knee during kneebar

Aljamain-Sterling-Cody-popping-knee-kneebar

Not once but twice did we see a modified kneebar finish at UFC 228. Zabit Magomedsharipov pulled one off on Brandon Davis and Aljamain Sterling hit one on Cody Stamann. Aljo’s seemed to be the more serious of the two, as Stamann grabbed his knee in pain afterward. Sterling knew it was bad because he heard the popping of joints and ligaments during the fight.

“He popped his knee. Definitely LCL and maybe some other stuff. Hopefully, it’s not that bad because it would suck to be out that long. I heard it, bro. It was a nasty one.”

Sometimes these things happen in MMA.

Remember Aljo’s post-fight speech and a fight broke out in the stands?

Aljamain Sterling secured himself a big victory when he defeated the previously undefeated, Brett Johns. During his post-fight interview, a fight broke out in the stands inside of the Boardwalk Hall in New Jersey. The crowd suddenly erupted while Aljo was speaking and he pointed out to the viewers that a fight was popping off.

If there are two things I know about New Jersey it’s that you can smell it from the Brooklyn Bridge and a fight will break out at a sporting event. When it comes to a New Jersey UFC, you can count on multiple fights in the crowd between guys with perfectly manicured facial hair and eyebrows.

Like clockwork, they didn’t disappoint.

Aljo and Weidman play in basketball charity game for cancer

aljo-weidman-basketball-charity-game-cancer

UFC fighters Aljamain Sterling, Chris Weidman, and Gian Villante all took part in a celebrity charity basketball game to raise money for cancer research. At least, they ATTEMPTED to take part in a basketball game. What ensued was a lot of dancing, trash talking, and a whole lot of fun.

Aljo seemed to take a lot of pride in going 0-2 from the field during the game. The posted video of the game was from Aljo’s YouTube, so this was the best of what he had. Running down the court, stopping, and then passing the ball was his mixtape highlight from the event. Props to Chris Weidman for scoring two points.

Maybe both Aljo and Weidman can come to Thailand and work on their game at AKA Thailand’s new basketball courts.

Aljamain Sterling got KO’d and dabbed. Sterling agreed, LOL.

Say what you will about Aljamain Sterling, but the dude can laugh at himself. After his KO loss to Marlon Moraes, the internet claimed that he ‘dabbed’ while unconscious. Obviously, when you are unconscious, you have no control over what your body decides to do. Well, Sterling’s body thought it was Cam Newton scoring a … Read moreAljamain Sterling got KO’d and dabbed. Marlon Moraes’ faceplanting knee that put Aljamain Sterling out

marlon-faceplanting-knee-aljamain

There were a ton of fantastic finishes at UFC Fight Night, Fresno. None were better than Marlon Moraes’ faceplanting knee that knocked Aljamain Sterling out cold.

It didn’t even start out as a knee, rather it was a switch kick where the knee clipped Sterling’s chin. Literally, the only thing that broke his fall was his face. Those kind of knockouts can be scary and even Moraes was concerned after the fight about Aljamain’s well-being.

Sterling posted to his Twitter and let everyone know that after the first stoppage loss of his career, he was doing okay.

“Hats off to Marlon. Thought I timed the TD perfectly and he was able to land a nasty knee. Sucks to be the nail, but this is the fight game. I’m ok for all those asking.”

The stellar knockout earned Moraes an extra $50,000 for his :67 seconds worth of work.
