Cornering audio from Chiesa vs Showtime Pettis at UFC 226

cornering-audio-chiesa-showtime

FightEffect has done it again by capturing and deciphering what each corner said during Anthony Pettis and Michael Chiesa’s UFC 226 fight. As MMA fans have come to know, good or bad cornering could mean the difference between winning and losing a fight.

The audio is stellar and gives a great look into the corner telling their fighter what to. It’s not a foregone conclusion that Duke Roufus’ advice was what made the difference in the fight, but Pettis’ execution and willingness to listen to instructions make a real strong case for it.

Ultimately. Pettis won the fight via submission and moved closer to title shot contention by doing so.

On a side note, I have no idea who Roufus was yelling ‘f**k you’ to, towards the end. When the fight is over, that’s supposed to be the end of any beef.

Maybe Roufus was on his phone and the guys working on his new Lambo gave him an outrageous quote to fit the brake light.

It could have totally happened.

Real Quick, Retro Pick: The Pettis Brothers show off Anthony’s precision kick!

Real Quick, Retro Pick: The Pettis Brothers show off Anthony's precision kick!

Ah, brotherly love. Even when we are adults, we still treat our kin the same way as we did when we were kids. Well, Sergio Pettis got the business from older brother Anthony and head RoufusSport trainer, Duke Roufus. It was just a simple accuracy kick to knock the can off of Sergio’s head. Or so he thought.

I’m sure they have done this a million times before. However, being the little brother… protect yourself at all times. They set up poor Sergio and being the younger brother, he had full trust in big bro Anthony. After what went down in this video, I imagine he never will again.
