Khabib looks like he son’d Artem Lobov, in heated Russian argument

It’s just a few days until UFC 223 but Khabib Nurmagomedov is starting things off early. In a video that was posted today, it shows Khabib confronting Artem Lobov in the hotel lobby. The argument went down in Russian, so we don’t know EXACTLY what was said. However, through research, we have a pretty good idea. In all honesty, you don’t really need a translator to read the body language of the two.

“I know it was you Artem! You broke my heart. You broke my heart!”

This more than likely stemmed from an interview last year where basically, Artem said Khabib is a chicken who pulls out of fights. Roughly translated, Khabib told Artem to keep his name out of his mouth. Then, he gave him a slap on the back of the head for good measure.

Conor McGregor apologizes for homophobic slurs used at Fight Night 118

Conor went on the Late Late Show in Ireland and apologized.

After UFC Fight Night 118, Conor McGregor was attempting to console his friend and teammate Artem Lobov who had just lost perhaps the last fight in his career.  He was talking to Lobov, unaware that he was being recorded. Conor used the word “[email protected]” twice during that conversation and the internet exploded as it often does.

He was on an Irish talk show, The Late Late Show and the subject came up. Here’s what Conor had to say.

“I have to put my hands up there. I was watching a fighter, a sparring partner, a training partner, a friend, a brother of mine who has given his health — his body health, his brain health, everything — to help me prepare for fights to give my brain health and my body health to entertain the public. That’s the fighter I was going to watch and support and I witnessed him lose a fight — a potential career defining or career ending fight — in a manner where the opponent was stalling and running away. I was upset and I was whispering in his ear and I was speaking on that and I said what I said. 

Meant no disrespect to nobody of any of the LGBT community. I didn’t mean no disrespect. Wasn’t even, you’d swear I was talking about or screaming at two people of the same sex kissing. I campaigned when we were trying to get same sex marriage legalized (in Ireland), I was campaigning for that. It’s another one where things just get blown out and they love to just, any chance they get, they love to throw me under the bus. It is what it is, I just have to say sorry for what I said and that’s it and try and move on from it.”

That’s all Conor had to say about it. Bottom line is I don’t believe he was saying what he said to homophobic. However, when you say something that so many find offensive, the mature thing is to apologize and move on. Conor did just that. Good for him.

All of the combatants hit the scales this morning for the early weigh-ins for Fight Night Nashville: Cub Swanson vs Artem Lobov. Everyone weighed in without incident, except for one person. For the second fight in a row, Marcos Rogerio de Lima missed weight. The UFC appears to be done playing around with this guy and fined him 30% of his fight purse, which will go to his opponent, Ovince Saint Preux.
