UFC 230 – The thrill and the agony. These are the best vids for MMA fans

thrill-agony-vids-fans

Personally, I feel that these ‘Thrill and Agony’ vids that the UFC put out are some of their finest work. Mixing in corner cams and behind-the-scenes looks at what was going on during fights is so intriguing. You wonder how Chris Weidman’s corner reacted to his loss against Jacare… and here it is.

The video really shows how much each camp had invested in the fights. When Jared Cannonier beat David Branch, we got an incredible look at Benson Henderson and the rest of the LAB corner absolutely losing their shit. To top it off, there’s an inside look of Dana White telling Connonier that he was hesitant to give him the Branch fight because he feared Branch would just lay on him.

Thrill and agony is a perfect way to title this video package. It allows us to see what really goes down at the fights. As for UFC 230, there were definitely a lot of ups and downs and we get to see all of it.

Chris Weidman wants to prove doubters and haters wrong.

chris-weidman-prove-doubters-haters-wrong

UFC fighters, whether undefeated in their career or consistent losers, will always have haters and doubters. After beginning his career with an undefeated record and owning two wins over the greatest middleweight of all time, Weidman found himself on a three-fight losing skid. In his last fight, Weidman got back into the win column with a stoppage victory over current #1 contender, Kelvin Gastelum.

Tonight, Weidman comes back after over a year layoff to take on Jacare Souza. Weidman sounds absolutely convinced that he will be doing his best out there and will open some eyes. It’s tough being at the top of the mountain and falling so far down it. Weidman has been wildly inconsistent with his activity level and is hoping to start anew and continue his win streak over Jacare.

UFC Twitch stream of Weidman vs Bisping. Hilarity ensues.

ufc-twitch-stream-weidman-bisping-hilarity-ensues

Now I understand why gamers have a Twitch stream that they broadcast. Because this stuff is hilarious. Chris Weidman and Michael Bisping squared off on EA UFC. Weidman was Chris Weidman and Bisping was Michael Bisping.

Weidman has Matt Serra in his corner because that’s the kind of guy that Serra is. He is coaching in every capacity of his life. As Weidman is beating the brakes off of Bisping, Serra tells him the combos to throw. All the while, Weidman is taunting Bisping and taking him down at will. Bisping is laughing and enjoying himself, but we can only assume that his blood was boiling.

The culmination, of course, comes in the form of a knockout at the end.

Down goes Bisping! Down goes Bisping!

Chris Weidman was not ready for what this cheerleader did

weidman-ready-cheerleader

Chris Weidman was not expecting what he saw from this cheerleader. Like, at all. Truth be told, neither was I or the 12 people that I’ve shown this to.

It isn’t every day that you see a beautiful woman do a backflip and land into a spilt. It should be every day that we see this, but apparently, we are only treated to this feat of skill very rarely.

It’s just hilarious that Weidman has absolutely no idea how to react. He looks as if he saw someone fall fifty feet to their death.

I give her a 10/10 for perfect execution and shock value.

Aljo and Weidman play in basketball charity game for cancer

aljo-weidman-basketball-charity-game-cancer

UFC fighters Aljamain Sterling, Chris Weidman, and Gian Villante all took part in a celebrity charity basketball game to raise money for cancer research. At least, they ATTEMPTED to take part in a basketball game. What ensued was a lot of dancing, trash talking, and a whole lot of fun.

Aljo seemed to take a lot of pride in going 0-2 from the field during the game. The posted video of the game was from Aljo’s YouTube, so this was the best of what he had. Running down the court, stopping, and then passing the ball was his mixtape highlight from the event. Props to Chris Weidman for scoring two points.

Maybe both Aljo and Weidman can come to Thailand and work on their game at AKA Thailand’s new basketball courts.

‘Weidman’s World’ sneak peek. Chris Weidman with the Islanders

world-sneak-peek-islanders

Former UFC middleweight champ, Chris Weidman, has a show coming out. ‘Weidman’s World’ offers a sneak peek into his time with the New York Islanders. It sounds like he tries their sport and they try his. It also sounds like Weidman played some pranks on the guys and hilarity ensued. Check it out.

It is funny when watching this video, you can tell who the finesse players are and who the enforcers are; Simply by watching them hit pads.

By the way, Mr Weidman, you suck at ice skating and you are STILL a bazillion times better at it than I am.

Watch the UFC on FOX 25 Ceremonial Weigh-ins at 3 PM PST right here.

UFC on FOX 25 Ceremonial Weigh-ins

We’ll see the fighters on the scale, and face off at 3 PM PST.

The official weigh-ins took place this morning already but this afternoon, the fighters will go through it again for the UFC on FOX 25 Ceremonial weigh-ins.  They will step on the scales, and then post and do face-offs with their opponents. It is all done of course so the media and fans can get photos and build hype for the card. It’s usually pretty entertaining and there are some heated exchanges.

The main event features a make or break fight between Chris Weidman and Kelvin Gastelum. If Weidman loses this fight, his legacy, as well as his standing near the top of the Middleweight division, may likely be a thing of the past. Kelvin needs the win to continue his climb up the ranks of the division towards an eventual world title shot.

The co-feature fight is between Dennis Bermudez and Darren Elkins. It’s a fun fight between two veterans who both can finish a fight with one shot. Should be fireworks.

You will find the weigh-ins right here.
