Kamaru Usman says UFC offered him Colby Covington (for the fifth time)

kamaru-usman-offered-colby-covington-fifth-time

Like Dave Chappelle says, “One, two, three, four, FIFTH!”. That’s correct, kids. For the fifth time, the UFC have offered Kamaru Usman a fight with Colby Covington and Usman has accepted every time. Colby, however, seemingly does not want any part of him.

It does make sense, actually. Covington relies on his cardio and wrestling to beat his opponents and Usman excels at both of those things. This forces Covington to have to fight with his hands and that is NOT what he is good at.

Usman knows this and all but guarantees that Colby will not accept this fight.

“I think there is a 0.000001% chance that Dana White will make him fight.”

Usman insists that Colby is scared and wants none of what he’s got.

I just think that Colby is too busy trying to make Colby great again.

Tyron Woodley needs hand surgery, ruled out for UFC 230

Tyron Woodley

Woodley injured his hand during the Darren Till fight, it will require surgery. Just when I thought Colby Covington was finally going to have to face Tyron Woodley in the cage, he’s off the hook. Woodley and Colby were rumored for UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden. That said, a hand injury will put Woodley … Read moreTyron Woodley needs hand surgery, ruled out for UFC 230

You knew Colby just had to weigh in (horribly) on UFC 228 ww title fight

colby-weigh-horribly-title-fight

Well, UFC 229 is this weekend and it features a battle of welterweights. Tyron Woodley will be defending his title against top contender, Darren Till. You know what that means. Colby Covington has come out from behind his computer and horribly relayed a message to the division.

As far as we know, Colby Covington became the interim welterweight titleholder a couple of months ago. We also know that he may or may not have been stripped of that title. However, since welterweights are fighting for the actual title, you just knew that Colby was going to come out and say something about himself being the real champ. Like clockwork, he showed up on social media with a couple of paid models talking trash about Woodley and Till on behalf of himself and his betting sponsor.

“UFC 228 is going down this Saturday night! It’s The Soy Boy (Woodley) vs The Dough Boy (Till) in a #1 contender fight. Who do you got virgins? Doughy Darrel or Tyquil Woodley? I’m putting my money on Two Faced Tyrone to pull it out in epic Woodley fashion via boring ass decision! Make your bank account great again and hit the link in my bio and use code COLBY to get a 100% deposit bonus to bet on the #UFC #NFL or any other sports.”

He sure can fight but boy does he suck at this trash-talking-for-marketing thing.

Welp, Colby Covington said he was going to do it and nobody believed him. Fast forward to today and yes, he actually managed to do it. Woodley vs Till, not Colby, devalues interim belts, says coach Mike Brown

woodley-till-colby-devalues-interim

First of all, Colby Covington and Rafael Dos Anjos fighting for an interim title was just plain old silly. There was not any real good reason that they fought for gold when Tyron Woodley was going to defend the actual title, months later. The interim belt system has been a joke and devalues being a … Read moreWoodley vs Till, not Colby, devalues interim belts, says coach Mike Brown

Under the UFC big top, Welterweight division a complete circus

UFC Big Top

Woodley is the champion, but who will he face & when? The UFC’s welterweight division is becoming a laughable farce as fighters duck and dodge, hold out for ranked opponents, turn down title fights, and then posture on social media. Tyron Woodley has been on the shelf with a shoulder injury, but he is seemingly … Read moreUnder the UFC big top, Welterweight division a complete circus

Colby Covington’s tweetstorm about Matt Serra. He mad.

colby-tweetstorm-matt-serra-mad

Colby Covington; You mad, bro? The UFC interim welterweight champion became unglued in a tweetstorm rant against UFC Hall of Famer, Matt Serra. Serra has absolutely no filter or ability to sugarcoat anything. During a recent Unfiltered he was bashing Colby and Covington seemed to take exception to it. The night that Matt Serra was … Read moreColby Covington’s tweetstorm about Matt Serra. He mad.

UFC 225 looks to have done roughly 250,000 PPV buys

UFC 225

The 250,000 number for that show, would be considered a disappointment UFC 225 was absolutely stacked, and the UFC had to be hoping for some serious interest resulting in a lot of PPV buys. The show had two big main events, Holly Holm and of course CM Punk. Google search reports of the show indicate … Read moreUFC 225 looks to have done roughly 250,000 PPV buys

Tyron Woodley not happy with Colby Covington, vows to hurt him

Tyron Woodley

Well, that escalated rapidly. Tyron Woodley wants to punish Colby Covington. Add Tyron Woodley to this list of people not lining up to congratulate interim champion, Colby Covington.  Covington has had a ton to say about Woodley, and now it seems the two are destined to meet in the Octagon. No rehearsed lines, Covington gets wrecked in verbal spat with Bisping.

rehearsed-lines-covington-bisping

Colby Covington can fight, but boy is he awful at trash talking. If he gets into a verbal sparring match with anyone, if his lines aren’t well rehearsed, he’s a train wreck. When Michael Bisping went hard at Colby on the UFC on FOX post-fight show, Covington was a blathering mess.

You know things are going South when Bisping says you are acting like a prick because Bisping wrote the book on how to do it. While Karyn Bryant, Kenny Florian, and Michelle Waterson threw softballs for Covington to hit, Bisping didn’t let up.

Covington finished the interview saying something that I still can’t totally understand.

“See you soon, Tyron Woodley. Don’t… don’t bitch out like your little Tyquil.”

Dude. What?!?

UFC 225 Embedded Episode 5 – Time to jump on the scales

UFC 225 Embedded

UFC 225 Embedded Episode 5 is here.

UFC 225 Embedded episode five is out and it’s fight day! We see fighters preparing to hit the scales and make weight for this amazing event. The main event is in jeopardy when Yoel Romero fails to make weight for the second time, in two title shots. It’s almost impossible to believe that he could miss twice for world title opportunities.

From the UFC YouTube

“On Episode 5 of UFC 225 Embedded, a star-studded media day includes middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, opponent Yoel Romero and former titleholders Holly Holm, Rafael Dos Anjos, Andrei Arlovski, Rashad Evans and Carla Esparza. UFC 225’s athletes — including CM Punk, Tai Tuivasa, Megan Anderson, Sergio Pettis, Charles Oliveira, Colby Covington and Mike Jackson — talk to media and stare down their opponents.

Afterward, Punk offers a backstage peek at the United Center, and Anderson begins her weight cut. On Friday morning all fighters make weight except for one, leaving the event’s headliner in jeopardy.  But all parties make it to the ceremonial weigh-in, where UFC President Dana White confirms that Whittaker and Romero will indeed rematch.
