Lucy, you got some ‘splaining to do! Rumors began to pick up and almost every MMA media outlet reported that Cub Swanson would rematch Jose Aldo. Cub posted to his Twitter that someone spoke too soon. Despite campaigning for the Aldo fight for years, that date does not work for him. I love this fight … Read moreSomeone spoke too soon. The Swansons EP 15. Cub and Kenda give birth to twins!

Kenda Perez and Cub Swanson have a lot on their plate. They have a toddler and now, they just had twins. King Cub Swanson and Saint Cub Swanson came into this world early Sunday morning. Both mom and dad look like they don’t know what day it is or which child is which.

What they do know is that they have three babies and a lot of work ahead of them. Cub stated that they were looking at houses but they may want to re-think that. Buying diapers for three… That’s more than a 20% downpayment on a million dollar home.

This is Cub, six months from now.

The Swansons Ep. 8 – Reflecting on his loss at UFC 227

The Swansons

Cub Swanson is a great fighter and a better person.

I’m a big Cub Swanson fan. As is our fearless editor Evan Shoman. So it really surprises me that I didn’t know about this Youtube series with Cub called, The Swansons. We’re catching it on Episode 8, but we’ll provide a link to see them all. The show is basically what goes into being a fighter, a husband, and a father. Cub is married to Kendra Perez, and the two have a small child and twins on the way.

Cub understands that MMA is a tough sport, and there are a winner and a loser. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. His success as a man doesn’t just revolve around what happens inside the Octagon. He’s a married, family man and he’s doing what he can to be the best at that.

From Cub Swanson

The Swansons reflect on Saturday night’s UFC 227 event. Cub talk about the changes in himself over the years through fight camp, the day of the fight, and how he handles a loss. Kenda gives us a new mommy’s perspective on how it is to navigate through these events all while being pregnant with twins.

Check out Cub’s Youtube page for the rest of The Swansons episodes, here.

Cha-Ching! Four UFC 227 fighters made six figures

The main and co-main event combatants from UFC 227 all made out pretty well this past weekend. Each of the top four fighters on the card all pulled in six figures. Of course, this is all before sponsor dollars and Reebok, etc. However, the disclosed UFC payroll is nothing to scoff at. Demetrious Johnson led … Read moreCha-Ching! The UFC had themselves the UFC 227 media day faceoffs today

The UFC held the UFC 227 main card faceoffs today and everyone was well behaved. However, that’s not to say that the pre-weigh-in staredowns weren’t intense. The only surprise came when Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw didn’t talk trash to each other. Usually, you can’t put those two in the same room together without something popping off. Both remained calm and handled their media duties with class.

On the opposite side of the spectrum was Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo. Despite their little Twitter wars, the two seemed friendly and almost jovial. Trying to judge them based on appearances is tough, but Cejudo already looks like this is a rough cut. DJ looked hydrated and rested as he attempts to set another record with this title defense.

Renato Moicano will look to climb the rankings as he takes on Cub Swanson on Saturday night. Cub is on a two-fight losing streak but has never lost three fights in a row. He’ll look to stop the 12-1 Moicano to avoid slipping down the rankings. Growing a mustache and looking like an extra from ‘Training Day’ may just do the trick.

Polyana Viana stunned on the red carpet and squared off against JJ Aldrich for their strawweight fight.

Lastly, Thiago Santos will look to rebound from his loss to David Branch when he takes on promotional newcomer, Kevin Holland.

The actual weigh-ins and faceoffs will take place tomorrow and you can stream them here on

Cub Swanson has a new family show. Pilot leading up to UFC 227

Cub Swanson is one busy SOB. He co-owns a UFC Gym with Michael Bisping, is a full-time UFC fighter, has a toddler with Kenda Perez, and the couple is expecting twins. Like I said, Cub’s a busy guy. Cub is coming out with a docu-short series that will focus on his life and this episode is the pilot. Aside from his mustache, they look like the Cleavers.

From his YouTube channel:

“The first episode of Cub Swanson’s new family show leading up to UFC 227 August 4th, 2018 – headlined by Treigning Lab teammate and training partner TJ Dillashaw. We get an intimate view of a veteran UFC Fighter balancing family, training, health, discipline, and everything in between.”

I must say that aside from the content and in-depth look into Swanson’s life, there is some excellent product placement in there as well.

Bombs away at UFC 227. Cub Swanson vs Renato Moicano.

The UFC announced Cub Swanson vs Renato Moicano for UFC 227 in August. This fight is added to a card that will see another banger with TJ Dillashaw vs Cody Garbrandt headlining. Tune in here to watch the Fight Night 128 Ceremonial weigh-ins. The fighters took to the scales this morning and for the most part, it was business as usual. However, Kevin Lee and Aspen Ladd both missed weight and will be fined 20 percent of their fight purse. It’s also important to note that fighters who have missed weight are 9-1 in their last 10 fights.

It’s now being said that Leslie Smith has turned down the 20 percent of Ladd’s purse to still fight her. The fight might not take place after all.

Cub Swanson breaks down fight between his former opponents

Who better to break down the UFC St Louis main event between Doo Ho Choi and Jeremy Stephens, than Cub Swanson? Being that both fighters are former opponents of Cub’s, the answer is, nobody.

Cub fought both Choi and Stephens to unanimous decision victories and in typical Cub fashion, both fights won him a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. In the case of Choi, they actually took home the award for ‘Fight of the Year’.

The bottom line is that Cub knows both Stephens and Choi very well. Check out his breakdown and see if you are in agreement with Swanson.
